For a non big eater, I’d recommend you - ladies especially, to go for Set A. Consist of soup, white rice, chicken, fish/squid, beancurd, vegetable and dessert, RM15 is definitely worth it AND the portion is BIG, I kid you not. You can even share with another friend/colleague

For the big eaters or those who crave for some protein loaded juicy ‘beefy’ meal, I’d recommend you to go for set B. You’ll get all 3 side dishes which is the chicken, the fish/squid AND the beef/lamb.

As for those who loves seafood, set C is definitely for you. The prawns are big, proportionate and this meal can definitely be shared among you and your friends as well

Overall, I’d say that The Rooftop new set lunch has a feel of home cooking. Less fattening (I know some of you guys always go for fast food for lunch) and leave you feeling full without burning a hole in your pocket.

My personal favourite would be the Ayam Panggang Percik Bersantan (Grilled Chicken with Gravy). It is soooo delicious that I’d like to have it all to myself. Haha! Oh! and Daging Masak Merah is also a must try.

Behind closed doors, one out of three women from all walks of life will suffer physical, mental and emotional abuse at some point in their lifetime. Regardless of social status, many women are subjected to some form of violence, and usually at the hands of someone known to her. Domestic violence is an issue not alien to many but still, not much is done to stop this social epidemic.

The Body Shop has been committed to put  an end to domestic violence with their Stop Violence in the Home Campaign which focuses on education and awareness among our customers and the public.

Hence, this year, as it has been practiced for 3 years in a row (since 2005),  The Body Shop once again collaborating with Sabah Women Action Resource Group (SAWO) on a Play Therapy Room Project which hits the spotlight on the psychological healing process of children affected by domestic violence and other traumatic experiences.

Play Therapy can be a beautiful and effective way to help children and works for children as counseling or psychotherapy does for adults. Play Therapy helps children work through emotional, psychosocial and behavioural difficulties and helps address family problems.

In Play Therapy, a relationship develops between the child and the therapist. The therapist enters the child’s world, following the child’s lead, developing a safe place and a relationship of trust.

Play Therapy sessions are usually held in a playroom that has a range of carefully selected toys and materials.  In special circumstances, Play Therapy sessions can also be offered in other settings such as home and in hospital. In the playroom, the child can express feelings, thoughts, experiences and behaviours through play. Toys are used like words and become the child’s natural language.

In Play Therapy the child selects the toys and activities to play with.  The Play Therapist may join in the play on the child’s direction or invitation.

Limits are set as and when needed. This is done in a way that helps children make choices and develop self responsibility.

According to The Body Shop General Manager, Ms. Victoria Engku, The Body Shop is funding an amount of RM 10 000 to set up the Play Therapy Room, and hopes that victims of traumatic experiences and their families can benefit from the therapy sessions held by SAWO’s trained project leader and psychiatrist, Ms. Irene Yee.

Finding a ‘keropok lekor’ in Sabah nowadays is fairly easy.

This is Kak Ani, owner of stall 14 who sell keropok lekor and banana fritters in Tanjung Aru Beach Food Court . If you ask me, this is the BEST keropok lekor and banana fritters I’ve ever found in Kota Kinabalu.

Kak Ani who is from Kelantan has been selling keropok lekor for 13 years now. Hence, you don’t need me to tell you how her experience of making the super hot and crispy delicious Keropok lekor tastes better than any other stalls.
