Hakushaku to Yousei
Genre: Shoujo, Fantasy
http://www.myfairy.tv/
The story is set in Victorian England. It follows the adventures of 17-year old Lydia Carlton, who is nicknamed the “Fairy Doctor” due to her interest in fairies, and also her abilities to see them. Her life takes a 180-degrees turn when she meets Edgar J.C Ashenbert, the “Legendary Blue Knight Count” and his crew on a sea voyage to London (more like she got herself kidnapped by him). Edgar hires her as an adviser during his quest to obtain a treasured sword that was supposed to be handed down to him by his family.
This 13 episode fantasy romance anime is adapted from a series of light novels written by Mizue Tani. After watching the first episode, i was impressed with the plot direction and the characters in whole. There’s a little mystery there to make you think, who exactly is this Earl? Since i’m sucker for shoujo type of romance story, even more because it’s fantasy related, i am going to stick to this anime… until further notice. Hahaha!

ToraDora!
Genre: Romance, Comedy
http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/anime/toradora/
Toradora!’s story begins with the male protagonist Ryūji Takasu who is frustrated at trying to look his best as he enters his second year of high school. Despite his gentle personality, his eyes make him look like an intimidating delinquent so he is utterly hopeless about his chances of getting a girlfriend anytime soon, and does not have many close friends either. After being greeted by his hungover mother in the morning, Ryūji goes to school and is happy to find that he gets to be in the same class as his best friend Yūsuke Kitamura and crush Minori Kushieda. However, it is then that he unexpectedly knocks into “the school’s most dangerous animal of the highest risk level” — Taiga Aisaka — who just happens to also be in his class, and is a good friend of Minori.
This is your typical falling in love with someone who is a total opposite of you from what i can see in the first episode. Taiga is a funny character, since she is domestically helpless (and hungry) without Ryūji, she stuck to him and exploits him into being her personal servant and they ended up helping each other through different things. Unknown to them, this strange relationship between the two of them stirred up rumors among the students in the school. They will deny it for now, but how are they going to stop those feelings that are bound to develop in the coming days?

Hyakko
Genre: School, Comedy, Slice of Life
http://hyakko.jp/
This is based on a shounen manga by Haruaki Katou which is serialised online. Ayumi Nonomura is a freshman in a very prestigous and large private high school, and instantly becomes lost as her insecurities give way to helplessness. She meets Tatsuki Iidzuka, Torako Kageyama, and Suzume Saotome on her first day (who were also lost) and the four become instantly connected. But as the story goes, many unique classmates show up. Those girls sometimes twist the heroine around their little finger or vise versa. In many situations, they all have noisy get-togethers with each other, and that is really fun.

Casshern SINS
http://casshern-sins.jp/
In the distant future, where cyborgs and humans struggle to survive after the war which destroyed the world, a being in white suit awakens. His name is Casshern and he remembers nothing of his own past. In barren and dark dystopian world, where every being alive seems to hate his existence and the evil from his past wants him dead, Casshern, haunted by the flashes of his past memories has to survive and figure out who or what exactly he is and how he got to where he is now. But he does not know that he might not like the horrible truth of the past, hidden deep inside his mind…
Casshern: Sins is a remake of the old 1973 anime by the name of Neo-Human Casshern. However, it had absolutely nothing to do with the old storyline, so don’t get them both confused like i did! Instead, in Casshern Sins, Casshern is presented as a cyborg subordinate of Braiking Boss who was ordered to assassinate the savior of mankind, and has thus doomed the Earth to ruin. As the other cyborgs (with consciousness) struggles to survive as the poisonous environment quickly causes their mechanical bodies to rust and corrode, forcing them to constantly replace their damaged parts, they also believe that devouring Casshern will make them live forever….

Tales of the Abyss
Genre: adventure, drama, fantasy
http://www.tv-toa.jp/
Luke von Fabre, the spoiled son of a noble from the kingdom of Kimlasca-Lavaldear, has been confined inside his father’s mansion ever since he was kidnapped seven years ago by a rival country, the Malkuth Empire. Now Luke’s memory of the life he led before is missing, and a strange voice, which only he can hear, has been calling out to him ever since. One day while training with his mentor, Van Grants, a strange woman called Tear breaks into the mansion with the sole intent of taking Van’s life. During the struggle Luke is transported far from home, along with Tear, and now that Luke has finally gained the freedom he’s been dreaming of, what awaits him in the outside world will shatter everything he’s ever known about himself.
This is part of the Tales series; namely Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Eternia and now Tales of the Abyss. In case you did not know, it is based on a console role-playing game developed by Namco! So rejoice, dear gamers, because unlike other video game animes, this show is an almost exact retelling of the game’s storyline! How cool is that? I enjoyed the anime very much, due to its magical / fantasy / adventure genre. It’s definitely something that i’d follow until the end.

Kuro Shitsuji
Genre: Comedy, Fantasy
http://www.kuroshitsuji.tv/
Yana Toboso is the writer and illustrator of this exciting series about Sebastian Michaels, an impeccable butler who can carry out any task required by his master with ease and perfection — partly because he is a demon. He is obligated to serve one of the noble families of England, attending only to Ciel Phantomhive; the 12 year old head of the Phantomhive family. Sebastian has unquestionably perfect knowledge, manners, talent with materials, martial arts and much more. But for some reason, he serves a 12 year old master… A Faustian contract, perhaps?
For some reason i love this anime to bits! Especially the two main characters in this series - Ciel Phantomhive and his butler Sebastian. The plot is building up slowly, although it still remains a mystery why Ciel’s parents died. Or how Sebastian came to be the Phantomhive’s butler…!

Kyou no Go no Ni (Today in Class 5-2) TV
Genre: School, Comedy, Ecchi
http://www.starchild.co.jp/special/gononi/
Following the line of the precedent OVAs. This anime goes around the normal lifes of some elementary school (5th grade, 2nd class room) kids and their adventures, while turning to teens. Their games, stupid jokes, and the misunderstadings around their premature attraction to the opposite sex. Ryota Satou is the main character here, but his friends are almost as important as him since the school wouldn’t be the same without them, specialy the girls who the majority of time appear to be mature by their ages but in the ends they are as childish and even more “dangerous” than the boys.
Before starting on this, just make sure you watch the OVAs first!

*fangirl squels* As a loyal fan, i am definitely watching this one! There’s no way i am going to miss the continuation from last season! The story differs a little and progresses much faster than the manga, so it’s something to look forward to see! Should mention that the vampires in there looks very hawt in every episode? hahaha!

Ga-rei -Zero-

http://www.ga-rei.jp/
The Japanese Ministry of Defense has an anti-paranormal special forces group called the Supernatural Disaster Prevention Office. They are the ones responsible to protect Japanese soil and its people from supernatural and paranormal events. However, things didn’t go so well in one of their missions…
This series is a prequel to the manga series, Ga-Rei. What i can say about this series is, everyone seem to die brutally in the first 2 episodes. However, those are just the aftermaths of an event that happened before. But what led the main characters to that stage? Why did it happen? This is why you have got to keep watching until the 3rd episode; where the story will lead you back to the beginning, where it all began. The overall sound effects and animation of this series are simply superb. You won’t regret it.

This series starts off a little slow in the beginning. A little action, but a lot of comedic factor! But if you are patient enough to follow Kyōko’s adventure until she gets accepted to the same talent agency as the hot Tsuruga Ren, things will get even more spiced up as Kyōko begins to climb up the ladder to being famous!

Mouryou no Hako
Genres: mystery, supernatural
http://www.ntv.co.jp/mouryou/
The story follows a series of bizarre murders of schoolgirls who have been dismembered and stuffed into boxes. The private investigator hired by a missing daughter’s mother joins forces with an antique book seller and others to unravel the murder spree.
Characters are designed by CLAMP, animation are done by Madhouse. I’m a big fan of CLAMP’s work (despite the fact they like to kill their main characters.. lolx). Although with the great team behind the series, the storyline is a little weird for my liking. Although the settings, characters and time line seem realistic enough, but the story is coated with layers of bizarreness and mystery that sort of weird me out. However, i shall continue watching this to see where it develops…. since its CLAMP afterall~
